At Perry Wellness Center, we always look forward to the monthly visit of the Adventist Community Service van, filled with food for low-income individuals and families on its route, including PWC peers.
At the group’s most recent visit, representatives from the service organization browsed Rudy’s Happy Patch Market to pick up some fresh produce for their own tables.
Carolyn Lipscomb, Director of Services, and her husband were impressed with the quality and variety of vegetables in the market. “I must buy some Chase Corn while we are here,” Mrs. Lipscomb said. With a smile, she scanned the full bins and tables. “You need the room!”
While unloading the latest delivery, staff member Ossie Lundy gathered a dozen ears of Chase Corn. “I understand that they pick the corn on the same day of delivery,” she noted. “I love fresh corn.”
Thanks to Adventist Community Services for providing our peers with groceries and for patronizing our market.
