Perry Wellness Center began this week by delivering Christmas trees to several local organizations who have provided support to the program. Stuart Perry believes that one expression of the spirit of Christmas can be through giving thanks and showing expression to those who have supported the center throughout the year.
“We know that it takes all organizations and individuals to handle the needs of our community,” Stuart explains. “We do what we can to help those suffering from mental illness and substance abuse, but Christmas is a time to come together in a united effort. I want to really show our appreciation.”
The first of three Christmas tree deliveries on a rainy Monday morning was made to the Americus Police Department in the Russell Thomas Municipal Building in downtown Americus. Staff leader Kelly Jansen made the delivery of the large Frazier fir to department secretary Laquithia Shunta Leveretter.
