The Christmas season is a time for giving, and members of the local Saint John’s Anglican Church have demonstrated this through its generous holiday outreach to Perry Wellness Center. For the second year, church members provided an array of gifts for peers to take home to give to young ones in the family.
The PWC cafeteria was filled with numerous presents, ranging from games to bicycles. A “Happy Patch Tree” was decorated with ornaments that were labeled with particular gifts for peers’ children and grandchildren. Peers’ faces were filled with smiles – and a few tears—as the presents were distributed.
“Today was a very humbling and wonderful experience,” said PWC assistant deputy director Amanda Perry, who attends Saint John’s, along with Stuart and Pam Perry. “We are so blessed and thankful to have Saint John’s in our community and as part of the Perry Wellness Center family.”
Saint John’s Anglican Church is an active community partner with Perry Wellness Center, involved in such activities as the year-round growing and harvesting of vegetables for Rudy’s Happy Patch Market.
Our thanks to Saint John’s for helping make this a wonderful Christmas season.
