In the waning days before Christmas Day arrived, Perry Wellness Center continued to celebrate the season. Peers gathered last week for a special Christmas dinner, along with the reading of the traditional Christmas story by Sarah Teal, a certified peer specialist at the center.
After several weeks of gift giving, Christmas parties, open houses, parades, and merriment of the season, staff are taking time to reflect with peers on the most important reason for celebration.
“I think it is important for us at Perry Wellness Center to remind our peers, staff, and ourselves about the real meaning of the season,” said Perry Wellness Center founder and CEO Stuart Perry. “Throughout the year, we need to be reminded of Christ’s birth and the goodness that He brings. We strive to have prayer and groups about spiritual involvement.” As a wellness program, Perry Wellness Center treats spiritual health as an important component of total mind/body wellness.
