Earlier this week, we discussed the rise of smartphones in everyday life at Perry Wellness Center. They are used for everything from texting to game playing. But we’re happy to report that some peers enjoy playing game the old-fashioned way.
As individuals age, phone screens and keys are not always as inviting for game play as decks of cards and game boards. For example, James Mahone enjoys the look and feel of real cards as he plays rounds of solitaire on breaks throughout the day.
“I guess it is good to have some games on the smartphone,” James concedes. “That is for younger people with good eyes and attentive fingers. I like solitaire with real cards and the movement of the cards as we work to win the game.”
