Georgia's statewide peer organization, The Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network, was founded in 1991 by individuals dealing with the effects of mental illness, addictive diseases, and developmental disabilities. In the over 20 years since its beginnings, GMHCN has grown to a membership of over 4000. The network also hosts the largest statewide peer conference in the entire country.
This year, its annual conference will be held August 21-23 at Epworth by the Sea in beautiful St. Simon's Island, Georgia. The theme of this year's conference is "Working toward Wellness through Coaching." Our own Stuart Perry will be providing a workshop on Wellness and Exercise.
GMHCN's newsletter, The Pipeline, is available for download, and features news, mental health information, and personal essays and poems, all by mental health consumers. We encourage you to check it out!
