As part of their ongoing recovery program, many peers at Perry Wellness Center volunteer for regular chores or special projects for the good of the center. One such peer is Vicki Lamica, who recently began a new task – water planted seeds and new plants in the extensive campus greenhouses.
Vicki also volunteers in the market display areas, where she patiently removes spent blooms from flowering plants, along other tasks. Now, she enjoys showering plant trays filled with new plants, moving hoses around to provide maximum coverage.
“I want to learn all about plant care,” says the active peer, and she seems well on her way to reaching her goal.
