Shucking CornAt Perry Wellness Center, we’re playing catch-up after our temporary closure of Rudy’s Happy Patch Market. Luckily, staff had been maintaining our growing plants during the closure.

Longtime PWC friend and now employee, Bob Ledbetter, enjoys helping founder and CEO Stuart Perry with a variety of outdoor projects on the campus. Recently, the season’s first load of fresh corn was delivered to the market. Stuart immediately reached out to Ledbetter for help.

Both men are competitive, but they acknowledge that shucking corn is not a skill that either of them want to master. But they both pitched in, as captured in the photo above.

“Bob does not like to have his picture made,” Stuart said, “But a photo of us together shucking corn will be good!”

The photo also captures the recently delivered load of fresh watermelons at the market. Looks like it’s going to be a good market season after all.
