Summer appetites and the great outdoors are bringing customers to Rudy’s Happy Patch Market in increasing numbers. As health restrictions ease, local residents are coming out to enjoy a taste of “normal,” as well as a taste of area farmers’ produce. Customers practice social distancing in the largely open-air market, as they search for fresh vegetables and decorative plants to take home.
In a recent poll of customers at the market, they reported coming from as far as Columbus to visit, although most were from the Americus area. The Columbus shopper reported, “I tried to find this market on Friday, but came back today. It was worth the trip back!”
One Americus customer was an early morning visitor in search of our ever-popular tomatoes. Lula Bush smiled as she filled her bag with fresh produce and said, “I am pleased to be here. I have looked forward to coming to Rudy’s Happy Patch.”
