Holiday food deliveryFor several years, Perry Wellness Center has welcomed the visits of Hew and Carolyn Lipscomb to the campus. The couple never arrives empty-handed, as they lead a food donation program throughout Central and Southwest Georgia. Each month, approximately 15,000 – 20,000 pounds of non-perishable foods are sent to senior centers and other non-profit groups throughout the area, under the auspices of Adventist Community Services. The program receives funding from the McCormick Foundation and the Bradley-Turner Foundation, and is supported by the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Perry Wellness Center peers are among those whose lives have been touched by this special program, taking home bags of groceries when the Lipscombs arrive at the center, stopping along one of four routes from the Macon, Georgia distribution center. With recent changes in the food supply and bag packing, food is now delivered in case lots to the center.

Several peers recently assembled to greet the Lipscomb couple when they arrived for their holiday delivery to Perry Wellness Center, as shown in the photo above. Along with them, we offer our thanks to Hew and Carolyn Lipscomb and Adventist Community Services.
