On a recent day at Perry Wellness Center, founder and CEO Stuart Perry surveyed the campus as a later winter rain fell steadily. In the middle of Spring 2021 planning for Rudy’s Happy Patch Market, he appreciated the benefits of the rainfall. The remaining inventory of winter plants, grouped for ready access and selection by future customers, soaked up the raindrops, and paved areas of the campus were washed clean.
While acknowledging that heavy rain can be a nuisance or safety issue for those working outdoors or traveling, Stuart welcomed the shower. “I welcome the showers to help maintain the remaining plants that we have,” he explained. “I hope farmers are also welcoming the rain.” Thinking ahead, he added, ”During the hot summer, additional showers will also be welcome!”
