On a recent day, we came upon Jeff Williams at the customer desk of Rudy’s Happy Patch Market. He was putting finishing touches on a floral creation that would brighten the market. That seemed fitting, as Jeff has guided the formation of the market since its beginnings, from décor to structures to advertising.
For those you don’t know the history of Perry Wellness Center, the center relocated to its current location off historic Rees Park after the devastating tornado of 2007. Formerly the site of Perry Oil Company, the location provided greater potential expansion as well as an in-town location. After the move, PWC founder and CEO Stuart Perry drew on his boyhood experiences to create extensive gardens and a produce market at the new location.
Throughout the process, Jeff and Stuart worked tirelessly to create a unique market that serves as the primary community outreach for the non-profit organization. For peers with mental health or substance abuse problems, community integration and reduced stigma make their daily lives easier, and the market helps fund many of the activities of the center.
Thanks to all our dedicated customers. We look forward to the best Spring market ever!
