Many local supporters of Perry Wellness Center and Rudy’s Happy Patch Market are part of a network of caring people in our community. They may know each other from church or civic groups or as neighbors, but they also share an interest in supporting mental health and in eating “fresh from the farm” produce.
Although most meetings are not planned, local supporters often run into each other at the market and stop to chat. Earlier this week, such a moment occurred when Jim Buchanan, local farmer and tomato producer, ran into Mrs. Jane Sullivan. He was at the market to deliver his latest gathering of tomatoes, while she stopped by to pick up some fresh vegetables, including Buchanan Farms tomatoes.
“I like to come by Happy Patch and make deliveries,” Buchanan said. “I meet some longtime friends, as we get a chance to catch up and chat about our lives.”
