At Perry Wellness Center, peers support peers. Sometimes that support comes in the form of a listening ear, whether about current events or personal troubles. Nothing makes the conversation flow during these cooler days that a warm patch of sunshine in which to “sit a spell” and catch up. Science tells us that both sunlight and conversation are good for our mental health, and one group of four PWC friends seems to have discovered the secret. The western sun beams warmth and light, and they often seek out a spot there to talk.
On a recent day, the camera caught them in a familiar spot on a large, colorful bench on campus. Pictured above are, left to right: Chambliss Wiggins, Annie Thomas, Dorothy Seay, and Sonya Mullins.
Just a reminder in this holiday season, sharing time with others is a gift to us all.
