Today is the first day of February, which means it is the last full month of winter. What unpredictable weather we have had this winter!
Perry Wellness Center founder and CEO Stuart Perry monitors the effect of winter weather on Happy Patch market inventory. He explains, “We have to realize that we live in the South, and the weather is unpredictable. With the cold and even sub-freezing temperatures, our market products were hurt. It is no fun to discard once beautiful plants. But we are cutting back and repotting all we can.”
The market display tables which are normally filled with vibrant plants now reflect the toll of winter weather surprises. Luckily, winter-safe produce and plants remain, along with the promise of a new season.
