At Perry Wellness Center, it is often difficult to distinguish between peers and paid staff members. That is as it should be at a peer-focused support program. Most of our staff have some history of mental health treatment themselves and have been certified as peer specialists. Additionally, many of our peers or clients enjoy opportunities to learn new skills at PWC and help out with various tasks.
PWC founder and CEO Stuart Perry explains, “We encourage our peers to help staff with the operation of Perry Wellness Center. When they step forward to offer assistance in our many activities, it is a learning activity for us all.”
