Look at all the tomatoes we found in a recent display at Rudy’s Happy Patch Market. What local vendor had such large, ripe tomatoes available so early in the season? Nakia Rhone, market manager, set us right.
“No, these are not our normal offerings of Buchanan Farms and other local vendors that we normally offer. I think that these tomatoes came from the Florida line. We had to have our chosen vegetable on the first weekend of the re-opening of Happy Patch.”
That’s because tomatoes are the “official” produce of the market, and no spring market would be the same without them. But readers need not fear. Local vendors are on the way, As they debut this season, we will keep everyone posted.
