Although formal art classes are not taught at Perry Wellness Center, promotion of creativity and artistic expression is a fundamental part of the learning and support environment. The art gallery we recently told readers about continues to grow.
PWC founder and director Stuart Perry shared his thoughts on this project: “We like to post art from our clients. Many of them seem to suggest a wall paper look. They are often changed out by staff and clients to indicate the progress in their skills.”
Readers are likely to be familiar with Lori Slaton, a peer client at PWC who has enjoyed creative expression with needlework, weaving, completing puzzles, drawing, and coloring. About her progress, Stuart notes, “Lori is a longtime artist, and we have taken note of her attention to detail and improvements.”
Stuart invites visitors to stop by and enjoy the talents of those whose work is shown in the PWC multimedia room.
