What does bike riding have to do with ears of corn? More than you might think! Rudy’s Happy Patch Market was recently honored to participate in a community event sponsored by Sumter Cycling. On June 1, the local bicycling enthusiasts’ group hosted a “Sweet Corn Ride” as part of its monthly first Saturday bike ride series.
The event kicked off at Happy Patch at 10:30 a.m., and numerous participants later stopped by the market to rest and receive a dozen ears of free sweet corn, courtesy of Chase Farm Market.
As many of our readers and market patrons know, Chase Farm Market is recognized far and wide for its delicious corn. Happy Patch has carried its always-anticipated corn for many years. We were happy to participate in community partnership and fellowship with this local business, as well as Sumter Cycling.
