At Perry Wellness Center, diamond painting is having a resurgence. The popular painting style is a favorite of peer Susan Hull. After she completed her first constructions, she taught the design method to James B. He quickly learned the method is in the process of completing his first design.
Both Susan and James, pictured at right with one of Susan’s recent works, have discussed the possibility of displaying at a spring art show. Perry Wellness Center founder and CEO Stuart Perry is also on board and looks forward to expansion of the activity. He states, “I do like the look of diamond painting. We will provide the new materials as needed to support the activity.”
For those new to this craft, diamond painting is similar to paint-by-number art, but instead of paint, multi-colored rhinestones are placed in corresponding numbered locations on a canvas. Diamond painting kits are widely available at craft shops or online vendors, and tutorials can be found on YouTube and other instructional video sites. It’s not too early in the year to take up a new creative hobby!
