With winter holiday celebrations behind us at Perry Wellness Center, and the cold weather reducing outdoor activities, peers enjoy indoor pastimes as they wait patiently for spring.
Peer Tamika Brown, pictured here, has resumed one of her favorite activities: completing jigsaw puzzles. Tamika explains, “I like to do work with my hands, and puzzle completion increases my eye and hand coordination. I feel like my motor expressions are getting better.”
Tamika points to a colorful puzzle spread out on a table before her, and says, “This is a 300-piece puzzle. I will get a larger puzzle for my next challenge.” The active peer also does a good job of multi-tasking, as she often answers the PWC desk phone and balances greeting callers with fitting puzzle pieces together. Good work, Tamika!
