On this morning, as on many others, peers and staff received a special greeting when they enter the west door of the classroom building at Perry Wellness Center. JAZZ, the official PWC cat, shares a welcoming cat smile with everyone who takes to time to talk with or pet the fluffy (and somewhat lazy) feline.
JAZZ is a chill cat who likes to sit in a sunny spot and rarely stands up except when she needs to “excuse” herself. While she takes responsibility for cheering and keeping an eye on all who enter her domain, peers and staff take equal responsibility for giving her attention and food.
It may not be official pet therapy, but we think having a four-legged creature or two around is good for anyone’s mental health. Thanks, JAZZ, for being here!
