PWC Celebrates Spirit Week
This week, October 28-November 1, our campus is more alive than ever with a spirit of celebration. The aptly named Spirit Week is our time to celebrate everything from the fall weather to the approaching holiday season, as well as a special Halloween day.
The Spirit Week schedule focuses on peer and staff attire and other fun events:
Monday: Wacky Tacky Day-- everyone dresses their silliest.
Tuesday: Decade Day – we step back in time to our favorite era.
Wednesday: Twin Day – it’s double the fun!
Thursday: Halloween Costume Contest – our spookiest and funniest.
Friday: Perry Wellness Center Day – provides a day for celebration and reflection.
Staff Amanda Perry and Elizabeth Moss have facilitated this week of celebration. Amanda explains its importance: “We are all busy at Perry Wellness Center, but this week of celebration with fall color and Halloween costumes is a special time. It provides a chance for older people to relieve their past and for our younger peers to enjoy the season.”
Learning to celebrate life is a part of the recovery process. Spirit Week provides a great opportunity to practice the fine art of celebration!
In the photo above, folks in Decade Day attire gather in Hope Park to strut their stuff and enjoy the fall weather. To check out a lot more of our photos, go to our Facebook page – Perry Wellness Center, “like” us, and browse our photos.
