Americus Civitans Bring Christmas Spirit
Recently, The Americus Civitan Club upheld an annual tradition of bringing holiday cheer to the peers at Perry Wellness Center. The local Civitan group champions the cause of those with mental disorders or disabilities, and its annual visit to our center is one way in which it demonstrates its acceptance and good will.
Members of the local civic group brought holiday goodies and Christmas cards to share with peers, then joined peers and staff for lunch in the cafeteria, after having their pictures taken with Santa.
PWC founder Stuart Perry points out that the support of the Americus Civitan Club extends past the holiday season. In recent months, the club donated its prime location at the Andersonville Fair, where we had a successful weekend.
“We do appreciate the work of all citizens in Americus and throughout our area,” Stuart notes. “No matter our needs, the Americus Civitan Club is eager to visit and share the excitement of life with our peers and staff. I do appreciate their generous attention.”
In addition to its ongoing support of Perry Wellness Center, Americus Civitan has endowed student scholarships and has provided community support in the Americus area for over four decades.
