Peer Art Featured at "Arts in the Park"
Attention, locals: It’s time for Arts in the Park again! Tomorrow from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., the popular annual art show will be held in Rees Park – just a few steps from our campus.
To encourage peers’ creativity, we’ve been working on some arts and crafts projects recently for display at the event. Looks for the colorfully painted clay flower pots on display. Staff member Jeff Williams explains, “This has been popular at Arts in the Park, and it gives us a way to lead peers on a common creative mission.”
In addition to artwork by our peers, we will also be displaying some of the hundreds of plants and shrubs from our greenhouses. Invitations to our market will be distributed to visitors at Rees Park, and directional signs will be in place. Peers will lead our efforts at welcoming visitors, promoting social interaction and once again sending the message that individuals with mental illness are a vital part of our community.
Tomorrow promises to be sunny, so come on down to the park and browse!
