As you will recall, Kaylon Holt is the enterprising peer at Perry Wellness Center who has collected thousands of pop tops for donation to the Ronald McDonald House in Columbus, GA. The donated pop tops can be redeemed for money, which goes toward supporting the needs of families whose children are receiving intensive medical care.
Several months ago, Kaylon visited Georgia Southwestern State University’s Nursing Department and et some of its students. He told them about his ongoing mission to collect a record number of pop tops for the Columbus organization. Within days, collection jars throughout the Nursing Building were filling up with pop tops.
On a recent visit of four nursing intern students to the campus of Perry Wellness Center, one student took a break from a volleyball game with peers to meet Kaylon and offer her congratulations. Allison Pastor, of Vero Beach, Florida, praised him for his awareness of the needs of others and his involvement of other citizens in the pop top project.
We’re pleased to report that Kaylon has personally presented 260,000 pop tops to Columbus’ Ronald McDonald House. Way to go, Kaylon!
