We hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas! At Perry Wellness Center, staff and peers enjoyed a few days with family, but we are ready now to welcome in a new year.
In mid-November each year, the holiday schedule is planned and posted for the peers and staff of Perry Wellness Center. This year, the schedule has seemed particularly full – and joyful.
“We want to get our schedule planned and posted early in the season,” Stuart Perry explains. “Many of our staff and peers are so busy with travel, family, and friends, but it is important for us to celebrate as our Perry Wellness Center family.”
On November 22, the campus kicked off the season with a peer luncheon, featuring garden-grown collards, ham, dressing, peas, cranberry sauce, and both pumpkin and pecan pie.
This delicious kick-off was followed by the downtown Americus Christmas Parade for which PWC captured the 1st place float prize. Next came the annual Americus Civitan Club Christmas visit, with lots of food, fellowship, and gifts. These activities were followed by a fish fry, peer and staff Christmas parties, the annual Cheer Up the Blues open house, and several smaller group celebrations.
The last week of December has arrived. Finally, Once we finish celebrating the new year, the peers and staff of Perry Wellness Center will be ready to take at least a small break from holiday celebrations. We hope you have enjoyed the season as much as we have!
