A new smile now welcomes customers to Rudy’s Happy Patch Market. Alexis Patterson is helping out the peer clerks during this particularly busy summer.
Alexis is the daughter of Mick and Mary Ann Patterson and lives within walking distance on Taylor Street in Americus. For the past fourteen years, her parents have operated “We Go Global,” a non-profit agency that provides mission tours to college, church, and youth groups across the country. Their stated goal: Sharing with others in different communities the love of God. Many of these groups have visited the Americus and Sumter County area and have provided volunteer hours at Perry Wellness Center. (Further information can be found in the Peer Posting archives at the perrywellnesscenter.com website.)
Alexis is following the family tradition of helpful sharing. She particularly enjoys helping out Phyllis Smith in market activities. “I enjoy Perry Wellness Center and only want to help Miss Phyllis,” Alexis explains. “I love to work and help others, and I want to remain busy.”
Today, Alexis is found restocking product shelves in the market. She patiently checks the “enjoy by” dates on boxes and straightens products on the shelves. With a smile, she says, “It is so great to have the question, ‘okay, what can I do next?’”
Miss Phyllis is equally happy to have Alexis on site, saying, “I am happy to have Alexis with me at Happy Patch. She is a great addition during a busy time of the year.”
Welcome, Alexis!
