Although Rudy’s Happy Patch Market offers several varieties of seasonal peaches, the most popular type is undoubtedly the large, sweet Elberta peach. The plump and juicy peach is great in baking or just to bite into. It was introduced into Georgia in 1875, so we consider it a native now!
The fate of peaches this season was sometimes in doubt. Perry Wellness Center founder and CEO explains, “With the rain and warmer summer temperatures, we could not offer exact timing on the harvesting of peaches by our supplier. We had heard that the peach supply was not going to be good, but I hope we have pleased new and repeat customers at the market.”
