As the clock runs down to Christmas and the new year, the calendar is filling up at Perry Wellness Center. Many events, both public and private are scheduled for the remainder of the month.
One major event has already occurred. The Americus Civitans sponsored its annual Christmas Tree Party for peers on December 5, with gifts, food, and an appearance from Santa himself.
This week, the pace picks up with the downtown Americus Christmas parade. The event is scheduled for tonight and, as always, Perry Wellness Center will participate with a float and throngs of peers and staff.
Next Monday, December 18, from 5 – 7 p.m., the public is invited to the center’s annual Cheer Up the Blues open house. The event features Christmas shopping opportunities, hot beverages and soup, music, a visit from Santa, and a chance to see the campus in all its seasonal décor.
Staff will participate in a party and novelty gift exchange on Tuesday, December 19 at 4:30 in the dining room. On Thursday, December 21, the larger peer Christmas party will follow.
The center will be closed on Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1 for the holidays, but otherwise will remain open – and busy!
Perry Wellness Center founder and CEO Stuart Perry extends a welcome to the public during the holiday season: “This time of year, we welcome friends and visitors to Perry Wellness Center. We want it to be bright and fun.”
