We’re pleased to report that our new mobile markets have been well received during weekend visits to Buena Vista and Ellaville, and now a new stop has been added in Montezuma. The primary merchandise offered at these weekend events is fresh blooming and green plants.
The true mission of the roving market has been to share information about mental illness and substance abuse recovery and create greater awareness of Perry Wellness Center throughout the surrounding counties it serves. The nearby communities’ response to the weekend markets has been positive.
“I am happy that the message about Perry Wellness Center is reaching more individuals,” says Perry Wellness Center founder and CEO Stuart Perry. “This was a good idea – to provide seasonal plants in addition to our message of helping others.”
At each stop, staff representatives not only sell plants, but chat with customers, listen, and respond to questions. The goal is to have visitors leave with not only a plant or two in hand, but with greater knowledge about behavioral health problems, treatment, and recovery.
Staff member Kelly Jansen notes another important purpose of the mobile markets: “Many of our customers already know about Perry Wellness Center, and many have been to Rudy’s Happy Patch Market. It is good to bring a personal greeting and thank you to people in these three rural towns.”
