An important part of recovery is being both mentally and physicially healthy. Proper exercise and nutrition are key tools in improving overall health and fitness.
To assist peers in their journeys to better health and wellness, the Perry Wellness Center takes a holistic approach to recovery.  As part of our health and wellness program, we offer the following:
    • A fully equipped fitness center, which contains exercise bikes, elliptical machines, treadmills, Nautilus equipment, free weights, a Wii Fit program, and even a Swedish cedar sauna.
    • Outdoor activities, including:  basketball, swimming, tennis, racquetball, volleyball, and badminton.
    • Healthy eating through our cafeteria and home-grown produce.  Fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers and our own greenhouses and vegetable beds are turned into nutritious daily lunches by our trained chef.  The Perry Wellness Center has truly embraced the farm to table movement.
    • Nutritional counseling by our trained dietician and produce market manager. Peers are educated on making the right food choices at home in order to maintain a healthy diet.  Our philosophy:  what we put into our bodies affects us mentally as well as physicially.
    • Relaxation time.  Activities range from stress management exercises to quiet work in our extensive gardens.  A walk through our guided nature path is sure to lower one's pulse and promote healthy thoughts!
