Hope our readers had a very Merry Christmas!
The holiday may have come and gone, but we’re still enjoying the memories -- and the leftover food. Speaking of holiday food, last week the Perry Wellness Center family had a special Christmas treat, thanks to kitchen staff member Arthur Patillo.
It’s not often one enjoys the scent of meats cooking on an outdoor grill in December. But last week, Arthur prepared five hams, wrapped them in foil, and fired up the large outdoor grill.
“These will be gifts for Pam and Stuart and for the peers,” Arthur explained. “This is fun and reminds me of my cooking in the past when the weather was warmer. To smell the smoke reminds me of Christmas and good eating!”
Children may have visions of sugarplums at Christmas, but a lot of PWC staff and peers had visions of grilled, sliced ham when Arthur manned the grill once more.
