Recently, peers at Perry Wellness Center have been sharing their break-time activities and hobbies with the camera. One of the center’s most joyful hobbyists is longtime peer Laurie Hillard. Her interests extend from needlework to drawing to jigsaw puzzles.
“Since I came to Perry Wellness Center and found the many puzzles, I have spent time after groups putting them together,” Laurie explains, in regard to one of her most enjoyable pastimes. “I like the larger puzzles.”
Many of her completed puzzles have been framed and hung on the classroom buildings’ walls. Drawings, weavings, and other creative expressions have been sold at Rudy’s Happy Patch Market.
PWC founder and CEO Stuart Perry appreciates Laurie’s work and says, “Laurie has done some creative art. I give them to state mental health visitors to the center.”
