Recycling and “upcycling” are design trends that promote an environment that is healthier, more economical, and unique. At Perry Wellness Center, well-known artist Jeff Williams continues to repurpose unexpected items around campus.
For example, brightly painted vintage bathtubs and livestock troughs serve as charming planters for some of the many plants grown for Rudy’s Happy Patch Market.
Jeff explains, “I throw away nothing that can be decorated for repurposing. The objects are fun to find and reuse. Their surfaces are my creative palette.” The bright colors catch the eye and often lead to conversation with visitors. Jeff invites interested individuals to stop by the campus and view his landscaping “portfolio.”
