Hope Fountain, the signature water feature on the campus of Perry Wellness Center, has been on the move again. That may sound a bit strange for a tall stone structure weighing – who knows? – at least a ton. But it never strays too far from its original location in the west parking lot area. As the campus has grown and new uses are needed, the fountain has been “shifted” from spot to spot with the assistance of rural machanics.
Said assistance is also known as a lift tractor from Perry Oil Company, whose founders and managers are relatives of Perry Wellness Center CEO Stuart Perry. PWC is actually located on a former site of the Perry brother’s oil company, so it seems only fitting that they would oversees such a huge but delicate job.
The first move was conducted under the supervision of Steve Perry and Jeff Williams, the latter also involved in the fountain’s construction. While it may have seemed a daunting move to make at the time, under their leadership and guidance, the fountain has now been moved a total of three times – all successfully.
Planning and partnership makes every job an easier lift.
