With Spring 2020 fast approaching, Rudy’s Happy Patch Market took to the road last weekend with its first mobile market of the new season. From 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the colorful market on wheels sat off the town square in Buena Vista, offering up its load of plants to new and previous customers. Flyers and socisl media posts drew early visitors to the square, where they shopped for plants and chatted with Perry Wellness Center staff.
PWC founder and CEO Stuart Perry explains the origins of the mobile market: “The mobile market was begun by Mulkey McMichael and me as a way to share the news of Perry Wellness Center and its benefits for those with mental illness and substance abuse in recovery. It has been a good addition, and we plan additional locations for the market. I had to be good in Buena Vista, my family’s home town.”
Mulkey McMichael, a Marion County resident himself, adds, “The increasing awareness of our mobile market has been great. I want more and more people to become aware of what Perry Wellness Center does. I am pleased with the return of supportive customers and the increasing donations we receive from returning customers. It is most gratifying to me and other market workers.”
