Perry Wellness Center relies upon a network of community partnerships to support its mission, through fundraising or information sharing. On local service organization that has benefitted the center is the Americus Junior Service League.
Founded in 1938, the Americus Junior Service League (JSL) supports positive activities and organizations throughout the Americus area, through the efforts of many service committees. As of 2019, the JSL adopted Perry Wellness Center through the establishment of a new service committee.
PWC assistant deputy director Amanda Perry is a member of the Americus JSL and appreciates all of the activities of the organization. Each month, the group helps in the donation of goodie bags for peers, food for parties, prizes for games, personal hygiene products, and other items.
The temporary closure of Perry Wellness Center due to the COVID-19 crisis has not stopped the JSL from reaching out in support of area peers. The organization was able to donate goodie bags that were distributed to all peers on the daily meal delivery route.
The Perry Wellness Center family gives a big shout-out to one of its most supportive community partners, the Americus Junior Service League. Their smiling faces are pictured above as they pose at the last Cowpoke Carnival, a major community fundraiser.
