Plant GroupingsWe recently shared with our readers the purchase and assembly of new plant hangers to display our spring plants at the market. The first spring plants have arrived at Rudy’s Happy Patch, and display space is often difficult to find.

Perry Wellness Center founder and CEO Stuart Perry acknowledges one reason for this dilemma: “We like to increase our market produce inventory. I am accused of selling one item and buying three replacements. But I want to provide a proper inventory for our buying public’s selection.”

He continues, “We look for grouping our plant displays to encourage multiple purchases. I have learned that customers may not take the time to plan their plant displays.”

By grouping complementary plants together, the market helps buyers see “the big picture” when it comes to buying and displaying house or garden plants. The photo above captures one such scene on the west side of the market, as well as the spirit of the campus – bright, colorful, and growing.
