On this Monday morning, peers and staff seemed a little slower than normal at Perry Wellness Center as they prepared for the week’s first day of learning and sharing. With the fourth day of extremely cold temperatures, it took everyone a little more effort to get their engines running, so to speak.
But the morning began with a greeting exchange among friends as they met after a weekend apart, and this simple activity made a difference.
Peer Nora Clark explained, “We had to have time to meet and talk with each other. We are warmer now and thankful to have a day of warm food, warm spaces, and a time to learn.” She added, “I like to do my part in being as creative as I can.” As she waited for the next group activity, she was already at work on her latest colored pencil drawing.
