Garden MobilesAt Perry Wellness Center, we enjoy sharing our peers’ creative endeavors. Art instructor Phyllis Smith gives them regular instruction and inspiration in arts and crafts projects, many of which are displayed on campus.

One such recent endeavor is a series of garden mobiles. As the campus walking path is being revived, it seemed like the perfect moment to showcase handmade garden mobiles along the path, known as the Hope Path. In keeping with the name, mobiles are being designed to promote kindness, faith, love, peace, prayer, happiness, and – of course, hope. Mobiles feature small painted flower pots, beads, and “light bulbs” with messages.

In the photo at right, the first completed mobile appears as a starting point on the path, off the east end of the customer parking lot. The photo below shows progress on the project.
Walking Trail 2026As other features are created, they are being added to Hope Path. Come see for yourself! Sometimes art belongs on a gallery wall, but sometimes it looks best in a shaded garden spot, moving with the breeze.
