Today we are happy to announce the upcoming “Journey for Life” I Mile Fun Run and 5K Race, scheduled for October 25, 2014. The event is being held to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Stuart Perry’s 1000-mile walk for mental health advocacy. All proceeds from the race will go toward local community activities to benefit individuals with mental illness or substance abuse problems.
We are actively soliciting both sponsors and race entries. To register for the event, entrants should make their check or money order payable to Perry Wellness Center. Entry fees are $20 for the 1 Mile Fun Run and $25 for the 5K, with senior and student registrations for $20. (Students must show valid I.D. on race day.) Race tee shirts will be given as part of the registration fee.
Sponsorships are still available. For Platinum Sponsors, a $100 donation is requested, with $50 for Gold Sponsors and $25 for Silver Sponsors. Platinum donors will have their corporate logo professionally imprinted on the race tee shirts. Gold donors will have their names imprinted, and Silver donors names will be recognized on race day.
We look forward to a fun fall day that promises both healthy physical activity and an opportunity to promote public awareness of mental illness and recovery.
