After productive spring and summer seasons at Rudy’s Happy Patch Market, plans for the fall season are underway. This week peers began soil preparation and planting in garden plots throughout the Perry Wellness Center campus.
Center founder Stuart Perry, who loves fresh vegetables in his diet, welcomes the new season. “Although I can eat them throughout the year, the fall vegetables are my favorite time of year,” Stuart said.
Fall vegetables currently being planted include onions, turnips, and collards. Others will follow. We look forward to healthy seasonal eating by peers, staff, and our many market customers.
