Longtime Perry Wellness Center peer Connie Rutherford has also developed a diverse job description during her time here. Several years ago, Connie served as a spokesperson for the center during a visit by Albany, Georgia television station WALB-TV. The interview was the first personal appearance by a peer client to promote PWC. Connie did such a great job that she continued to help out with public awareness and has assumed the lead role for public presentations of the center.

“We have no task that is too much for Connie,” says PWC founder and CEO Stuart Perry. “She is involved in everything for the good for Perry Wellness Center, and you have no idea of her presence and actions on behalf of our peers and staff. I appreciate all the good that she does for us.”

Right now, Connie’s “to do” list includes her annual cleaning of the painted bathtubs around campus, followed by new plantings. The tubs were originally collected and painted by Jeff Williams, creative leader for PWC. Connie’s industrious attitude is a good influence, as Jeff says, “With Connie’s attention to these tubs, I must take time to clean the outside colors.”

That’s why it’s called spring cleaning – and planting – and painting.
