Winter cleanup 1On a recent January day of clear skies and lots of sunshine, peer volunteers and staff took advantage of the weather to tackle some timely outdoor tasks as part of a new project.

Winter cleanup 3Perry Wellness Center founder and CEO Stuart Perry explained, “I have discussed with our artist and creative leader, Jeff Williams, about changes in the market display and management that will help us in our next market days. Jeff’s activity has caused many other peers and staff to assist in the project.”

One priority was to clean the north parking lot area of the market, clearing away the last vestiges of the Christmas tree wonderland that had occupied the spot in Winter cleanup 2previous weeks. Another priority was to move decorative straw from the parking lot area to prepared plant sites.

“Many of the winter crops need straw,” Jeff Williams noted. “Some of the planting areas need weeding. The warm temperatures have peers and staff coming out to help us.”

He concluded with a smile, “Getting ready for the 2019 market days is fun and exciting!”
