Snowball PlantIn the western garden area of Perry Wellness Center, white Snowball bushes easily catch the eye. The popular bush, formally known as Viburnum Opulas, is a best seller at Rudy’s Happy Patch Market.

The Snowball bush is easy to grow and is frequently used hedges and as cut flowers. Although the flower clusters start out as apple green in color, they turn white and eventually fade to a soft rosy color.

“With all the color and plant excitement at Happy Patch Market and our mobile market, we cannot keep the Snowball bush,” Stuart Perry says. “We sell out with every visit. I have upped my buying with suppliers, but it seems that the plant’s popularity is not only with us.”

Currently various container sizes are available at the market. It will soon debut in this spring and summer round of mobile market stops in nearby communities. The first mobile market of the season will be held on Friday, April 5, in downtown Buena Vista, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and at the same times in Ellaville on the following day. In addition to the Snowball shrubs, many other plant varieties will be available for sale.
