Pumpkin Stacks a Market Favorite

Market Pumpkins
In hopes of a close-to-normal fall season, Perry Wellness Center and Rudy’s Happy Patch Market have begun to display fall plants, corn stalks, décor, and pumpkins. After all, what is October without pumpkins?

Kelly Jansen recently made a trip to the Atlanta Farmers Market to select a panel truckload of fresh, colorful pumpkins. Kelly notes, “It was a good time to go to Atlanta and see the first varieties of pumpkins. The mums are coming in a couple of days. Rudy’s Happy Patch will be in the fall mode for decoration to welcome customers.”

Stacked PumpkinsOnce the load of pumpkins arrived on campus, Jeff Williams lost no time in preparing them for special garden décor. Afternoon temperatures were approaching 80 degrees, but Jeff found a shaded area to begin his pumpkins creations – that is, multicolored pumpkin “stacks.”

“I did not go to Atlanta to select the varieties and colors of the pumpkins,” Jeff explains, “But I like to arrange them along sight lines for market customers. The multicolored pumpkins stacks are usually the first to sell.”

Looks like it’s going to be a festive fall and holiday season at Perry Wellness Center.
