As the United States, including Southwest Georgia, reaches the first anniversary of the coronavirus lockdown, safeguards continue to remain in place on the campus of Perry Wellness Center. Jan Adkinson, pictured above, demonstrates one of the procedures in place for ensuring safety of peers and staff.
Upon entry into the lobby each day, temperatures of staff members are checked. If someone’s temperature indicates a fever is present, the individual must return home for a recovery period. A copy of the PWC staff agreement is posted on a sign at the front desk. It prompts the staff member with a series of questions: Have you or anyone in your household experienced COVID-19 symptoms in the last 14 days? Have you been symptom-free for at least 3 days? Have you been exposed to anyone with a confirmed case of COVID-19? A thermometer and clip board are kept at the desk as well, to record and post staff temperature check-ins. Similar protocols are observed for peers’ travel and assembly.
By continuing to observe safety procedures, we will remain in good health at Perry Wellness Center as we await the end of the pandemic.
