Plant UnloadingOn its second trip to Marion County this year, Rudy’s Happy Patch Mobile Market greeted local customers with its filled box truck, pickup, and trailer. On the Buena Vista town square, enthusiastic visitors checked out the wide array of plants available for sale.

Perry Wellness Center founder and CEO Stuart Perry enjoyed mingling with customers, and he appreciated the mobile market location across the street from Tom’s Standard Service. This station was the site of the Perry family business in years past, where Tom, Mary, and son Stuart Perry sold plants from the family greenhouse. The family legacy was clear as plants were laid out for sale.

“Like our first trip this year, our first hour was not busy,” Stuart recalled. “We wondered if our plants, trees, and shrubs would find a new home. Soon, the excitement of the buying customers set a three-year record for a five-hour plant sale.”

Market manager Kelly Jansen also expressed his enthusiasm: “We do thank our repeat and new customers! It is a fun trip to Buena Vista, and Stuart is always happy that we are pleasing our customers. People want us to come every weekend, but the hot weather of later summer gets too hot on our plants and our clerks.” He noted, however, “We will travel to Ellaville next weekend to show for their Spring Celebration Fair.”

Kelly concluded, “We are happy that many Buena Vista customers visit us at Happy Patch Market in Americus. They always leave with a smile.”

Special thanks to the Smith family of Buena Vista pictured above, who stepped up to help Kelly and colleague Charles Tanner, as they unloaded the filled box truck off the town square.
