In nearby Marion County, David Wells is often known as “Coach” Wells. But at Perry Wellness Center and Rudy’s Happy Patch Market, the recently retired Wells is known as “Farmer” Wells. The part-time farmer is a local supplier for the market, and is challenging other area growers.

“I am only minutes away from Americus and longtime friend Stuart Perry. I am happy to be a part of the local farmers who have been chosen to supply the market.”

Wells is now supplying Happy Patch with collard greens and tomato varieties. He researches the local market in order to fill voids with his own fresh produce.

“I will send the best that I have,” is David Well’s assurance to market customers.
